Passion Projects/Africa
In March 2013, I travelled to Rwanda (with my friend Ivy) to visit the Street Kids of Rwanda at the Kimisagara orphanage. I had been raising money for the orphanage for over two years and returned to spend time with the kids and help fund some projects (new dormitory building, secondary school fees, library access for some of the children, soccer balls, as well as basic needs such a toilet paper, laundry soap, mosquito netting, and cleaning supplies). I also went with donated cameras for the children. While there, we also spent time with the Indangamirwa Cultural Troupe and visited the mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park.
In March 2013, I travelled to Kenya to join my sister Shannon and her husband on a safari to Tsavo East National Park, Amboseli National Park, and Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary (African Memorable Safaris). We also spent a day visiting with the children at Shikamana School in Mombasa, Kenya.
Short Films
After completing the Basic Filmmaking Course at Winnipeg Film Group in 2016, I co-wrote and directed the short film Contents of the Heart, which won Best Film in the 48 Hour Film Contest at Winnipeg Film Group. The film went on to have numerous screening and win awards in festivals across Canada. In 2017, As We Are, the short film I directed for the 48 Hour Contest won Best Film, Best Director and Best Cinematographer at the contest screening at Gimli Film Festival. I am currently developing and pitching a documentary project in Rwanda.
Other Projects
I am open to collaborating on a wide variety of projects. From yoga, to promotional videos.. I love to help my clients realize their vision.
